I took a spin up around the hills at the back of me in search of Hen Harrier as they should be returning as it`s getting close to the breeding season. So as I walked up through the bog I heard a clucking of a bird I haven`t seeing or heard much of these days, The Red Grouse!. These birds have become quite rear near me due to over hunting. So when 2 of them rose up in front of me I got quite a shock. They can just disappear into the long grass and never be seen again. Along with that I had 1 Male Hen Harrier as well but only got distant views of it but great to see all the same. So I`ll post some grouse shots I got.
I`m an amateur photographer who took up snapping birds and other wildlife in Ireland. All photo`s are my own, I use a Canon 550D with a Canon 300mm F4.0 is usm lens.

Red Deer
The thing I love about Killarney in Co Kerry, is that you are nearly always guaranteed good views of wild Red Deer, Because they are so use to people moving about in the park they can often be standing in a open field in full view and not one bit shy. This however has a drawback as a couple of these deer were found last year missing their heads. So here are a couple of pics I got the other day.

Platalea Leucorodia and Cinclus cinclus
I took a trip to Kerry last Friday as the Spoonbill that had been there the last couple of winters was back so I got a few shots of him and while in Killarney I took some shots of a Dipper in the local river. Here is a few for you.
