Calidris Maritima V`s Arenaria Interpres

While by the shore recently I came across two different small flocks of small shore birds. The Purple Sandpiper and the Turnstone. I love watching these small birds as they go about their business feeding at speed along the shore. But just what I really love is the Turnstones, you can see where the name came from as they turn some stones (which would be a fair size given the size of the bird) over to get at any sandhoppers or flies that would be hiding under them.
