Birding in Cork

As you can see I`ve haven`t been updating my blog due to my starting back at college. So I will try to update it when I get out birding at the weekends. I took a trip to Cork today as there was a Woodchat Shrike there all week. Thankfully he stuck around and I got so great views of him. These birds don`t summer here so any sighting is a good one. I also had around 11 White Wagtails, another bird that is only passing through. Other birds of note were Yellowhammer (Thats the third county I`ve seen them in now) Common Buzzard, Sparrow Hawk, Stonechat, Pale-bellied Brent Geese (200 Birds still hanging around) Shellduck, Linnets, Little Egrets, Chiffchaffs, Sedge Warblers and many many more. So a fantastic days birding had in all.
Chiffchaffs are well and truly in.

Not the best of shots, but any Buzzard shot in Ireland is a good one.

Stonechat bring food back to its chicks.

Grey Heron at the beach.

Blue Tits look so beautiful in their suumer plumage.

My first Irish Woodchat Shrike.

Another angle.

Yellowhammer male showing off his back pattern to a female.

Female Yellowhammer checking out the male.

. This Wren was in fine voice today.
